Coach Hisey played high school baseball in Klamath Falls, Ore from 1984-1987.  During his time as a prep player he played in two Olympic Festivals (1986 Houston/ 1987 North Carolina), was on the 1987 USA National Junior Baseball Team which participated in the Junior World Championships in Windsor, Ontario Canada, and was recognized as the Oregon Baseball Player of the Year by Gatorade.

After graduating high school Coach Hisey signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Jerry Kindall at the University of Arizona.  Jason pitched at the UA from the fall of 1987 to the spring of 1991, lettering three of his four years, and captaining the 1991 team.

After graduating with a bachelors degree in Exercise Sport Science from the UA, Jason played three professional seasons with the St. Louis Cardinal organization, from 1991-1993.  In 1995 Jason received his Masters degree from the UA in Sports Administration.

Coach Hisey was hired as head baseball coach at Catalina Foothills High School January 5th, 1995.   Coach Hisey guided the Falcons to nine consecutive 20 win seasons.  In his eleven year tenure the Falcons were 256-78 (77%).  In that time the Falcons won eight Region Championships (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005), and played for the Arizona Interscholastic Association State Championship in 2002, 2004 and 2005.  His teams were ranked Nationally by various publications throughout his 11 seasons, reaching as high as 10th in Collegiate Baseball in 2002.  The 2005 Falcons set the school record for wins in a season with 33, and the 2000 team set a school record by winning their first twenty games.

In his tenure at CFHS Coach Hisey tutored six division I scholarship players, three professional players, had 74 individual players honored as All-Region, 33 players on the Arizona Daily Star/ Tucson Citizen All-Southern Arizona team, and Seventeen All-State Selections.  In addition, he was honored as the Southern Arizona coach of the year in both 2002 and 2004, and was Region Coach of the Year in 1995, 1996, 2000, 2002 and 2004.

From the summer of 1997-2005 coach Hisey directed Foothills Baseball Club to over 320 wins in eight seasons.  Competing in tournaments across the nation Coach Hisey’s club teams finished in the top 8 of several national tournaments; including the Timet Wolves Classic (Las Vegas, NV), USABF (San Diego, CA), Champions (Louisville, KY) and AAU 17-under (Phoenix, AZ), played for the 1998 Arizona American Legion State Championship, and played for the Southern Arizona Baseball Association Championship  in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005, winning back to back championships in 2004 and 2005.

In 2005 Coach Hisey was selected as an assistant coach for USA Baseballs National Junior Team which traveled to Villahermosa, Mexico and captured the silver medal going 12-2 in the COPABE games.  Coach Hisey served as the pitching coach and his staff posted a USA Baseball Junior Team record ERA of 0.94 in 14 games.  In the summer and fall of 2006 coach Hisey was head coach for USA Baseballs National Junior team (age 18-under), and led them to a silver medal in the 2006 World Championships in Cuba.  Coach Hisey’s selection as a USA baseball coach made him the first former player on a USA National Junior team to also serve as a coach. 

Coach Hisey served as pitching coach and associate head coach at Pima Community College from 2006-2008. In his time at PCC Pima won 105 games over three years and made the play-offs in 2006 and 2007.  His 2006 pitching staff led the ACCAC with a 2.74 ERA.

Coach Hisey took over the Ironwood Ridge High School baseball program in 2009 and guided them to the final eight of the 5A II state tournament in just his first.  His 2009 IRHS squad finished with the second most wins in a season with 17.
